Once upon a time in the beautiful seaside town of Bay Mahone, where most days the sun shines on the blue waters of the
peaceful bay and makes it twinkle like diamonds, there was some very distressing (that means bad) news!
You see, that winter there had been a lot of storms. Strong blustery winds, torrential (that means very heavy) rains and heaps and heaps of snow along with the dreaded freezing rain and ice. This bad weather had wreaked havoc (pretty much destroyed) on the houses of the faeries that lived in the woods and gardens of the town.
Now we all know that faeries are magical and have special powers. They can grant wishes after all. However even faeries have their limits. The damage to their homes was more than they could handle!
What were they going to do? Well, they did what ever one should do when they are faced with a problem that is too big for them to handle alone. They asked for help!
When the townsfolk heard what had happened to their Faeries, they immediately leapt into action! After all, the Faeries had been spreading their magic over the Town of Mahone Bay for eons (that’s a very long time). Of course we’ll help they said!
That spring, the town was a hubbub of faerie busyness! There was raking and pruning. Wheelbarrows were going hither and yon (faerie speak for all over the place). Saws were sawing, hammers were hammering, brooms were sweeping. There was painting, sewing and all types of activities happening.
And finally the very tired but happy townspeople we’re finished and ready to show the faeries what they had done.
We are very happy to say that the faeries, every single one, were delighted with their new homes and villages.
They were so grateful for all the help, they asked what they could do in return. The townspeople only wanted the faeries to be happy and to continue to live in their town. The faeries agreed and said they would stay forever.
Then the faeries and the townspeople had a party to celebrate! There was dancing and music and of course lots of faerie tea and sweets!
The Faeries told the townsfolk they could come and visit them anytime they wanted. And so can you.
Welcome to the Faerie Trails of Mahone Bay!

Do you have a wish?
Leave a note for the faeries describing your wish in The Faerie Wish Processing Centre. The Head Faerie and her Wish Committee with review it. When you see the first star to twinkle in the night sky near your home, you will know that the faeries got your wish and are working on it! Don’t be afraid to add some sparkle or glitter to your note. Faeries love shiny things.

Most importantly, keep your eyes open. Look up and down and under and around. You never know when a Faery might appear.
Be tidy! Faeries are very neat and they never litter. They recycle, reuse and repurpose everything. They hope you will too.We use cookies to analyze website traffic and optimize your website experience. By accepting our use of cookies, your data will be aggregated with all other user data.
